Can Insurance agents Really in a Down Economy? The answer may surprise you.
I was on the doing a paid phone consultation with one of my customers with the insurance brokers other day, and we talked about his insurance marketing, when he told me-I keep their market share during a downturn in the economy.
I know, I know, go and close your mouth before a fly goes in it. Is this guy a magical insurance marketing machine, giving them the strength to grow its insurance, regardless of the economy? The answer is yes, but that's not what I would like to speak with you today.
I would like to work with you on this very important truth. This guy has it right. Since a recession is not the time for panic, it's a time to your business.
If the insurance marketing recession proof your insurance book then the first and above all you have to do is that the right attitude.
So the first mistake most insurance agents, it would not recognize that a recession is a normal economic cycle.
The threat of recession is not the first, nor will it be the last. But you must contact your insurance marketing with the mindset that sees that a recession is like a fire, the small and grows immediately or can be deleted or at least, be dependent on several factors. And you can use your marketing insurance to offset some of these factors.
Remember: All fires need oxygen to burn. And with every recession the media oxygen to try to think the recession, or, in other words, the fire, afraid that your customers are. The more your customer listens to the media which they believe that the recession will affect their lives and act accordingly. That is the mentality, the herd is a powerful psychological trigger. You must be smart enough to recognize that the media play an agenda-fan, if the flames of recession type of thinking.
So what can you do? Insurance Marketing, you can do a lot. For example, the person who is out there looking for positive things in the economy and share this information with your insurance. There is good news dealer. Local information is most effective because, the more resonance with your customers.
But unfortunately, together with the number one worst mistake most agents make in dealing with a recession, but also very quick to jump on board with the media and spewing all the negativism associated with a recession.
Why is it important that you are not this way? Because of this truth.
Most people, including your customers are walking around looking for someone who they are, to show them the path. And you need the strong, loving hand, which it has a difficult time. And you have your insurance marketing.
Well, I am not saying that you have to be a Pollyanna, everything is okay, as long as you have a positive attitude. I am not saying that the recession is not real.
I am not a proponent hold my head in the sand and pretending that there are no concerns. Hogwash. There are some real concerns, but what I am saying is that the issues are not and should not negatively impact an insurance agency, unless you can not effectively use your insurance marketing communication results of a counter balance to the good things , in the economy and spread the good news. Otherwise you can simply enter your customers to believe and think that everything that happens in the world, the negative economic things spewed by the sensationalism driven media. You need to Marketing Your insurance does not allow.
The reality is that people do not like to live in fear. They want confidence in the future, and they are in the marketing of your insurance, if you show that confidence. In fact, the fact that there is a recession to come, if properly positioned fuel growth in an insurance agent in several ways.
